Q: How long have you been doing yoga?
A: 11 months

Q: Had you tried yoga before attending classes with Rebecca? If so what style? Where?
A: I had never tried yoga!

Q: What made you decide to start yoga?
A: You had mentioned it to me Beck's and tried to find every excuse not to attend! At the time I began to get panic attacks and I was only leaving home to work. My GP had suggested trying yoga to help relieve anxiety.I thought it would be a useful challenge and it quickly became the one activity that I MADE myself go to religiously, even when it took over an hour to get out the front door!

Q: How did you feel after your first class?
A: I really don't remember. For a 5 months I can only really remember the challenge of remaining in the class. I would imagine I felt relieved that I had made it.

Q: What’s your favourite pose? (You can use a description if you don’t know the name of the pose)
A: It changes but at the moment it's fish.

Q: What’s your least favourite pose? (You can use a description if you don’t know the name of the pose)
A: At the moment I am not ken on the Extended side angle posture.

Q: Has yoga helped you with any specific ailments/injuries?
A: Really helped me to manage anxiety and panic, it is a great diversion. I tore my ACL several years ago and had very restricted movement in my right knee and this has greatly improved.

Yoga has given me the confidence to 'have a go' at lots of new things, which I would never have done before. It has also given me the confidence to feel 'ok about not getting things right and the desire to keep trying and see what happens.

Q: What motivates you to keep attending class?
A: Yoga has become a way of life for me now. I honestly cannot see myself without it. It is an exciting journey and it's nice to be in the same room as other people who for whatever reason are also drawn to class. It's a strange feeling and I am not sure I'm able to explain my answer yet!

Q: What would you tell someone who’s never tried yoga before?
A: Absolutely ANYBODY can practice yoga. I used every excuse possible! I can't bend my right knee very much. I can't even touch my knee's let alone my toes! I have broken almost all my fingers. I'm blind in one eye. I'm incredibly clumsy. I find exercise boring.

I AM HOOKED! I saw results even within a few classes. Yoga is a very generous practice. You get back a lot more than you put in. I think that if yoga is for you, you will know very, very quickly.

Yoga has been the only practice/hobby/exercise that I have found inclusive. I think that everybody will find that they will benefit from yoga..... You just have to have the gut's to get in there and do it!

Yoga is not about being 'good enough' to begin learning, everybody is always learning something new, so if like me you are thinking about getting a book or DVD before you try lessons I would probably recommend you don't waste your money! Get yourself straight into class!

Don't worry about what you look like, because actually nobody else will be looking at you, they will be concentrating to much on themselves!
